"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others.  And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." - Dalai Lama

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the school social worker for Mill Creek Elementary School, serving students in grades 3rd (B Wing) through 6th.  A school social worker is a certified professional who supports students academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.

As a school social worker, I interact with students, teachers, parents, and community agencies on a daily basis to ensure that students’ needs are being met.  I provide individual and group counseling to students in areas such as social skills, anger management/relaxation, friendship skills, organizational skills, dealing with life changes, and coping with grief.

I also assist parents with medical applications and provide referrals to outside agencies (e.g., counseling and food banks).

If you ever have any questions for me or would like me to work with your son/daughter, please contact me at 267-599-2440.  I look forward to working with you and your child.

 Joy McDonald MSS, LSW
